OTR refrigerated freight

Routes & Home Time

Where JASKO drivers run, what they haul, and how home time works — explained plainly, before you apply.

Running With JASKO

Where We Run

Nationwide over-the-road refrigerated freight, with primary operating regions in Arizona, the Midwest, and the Southeast. Where any individual driver runs depends on available freight, equipment, and dispatch.

The Freight

Temperature-controlled freight on Utility refrigerated trailers — temperature-sensitive food and grocery freight, hauled on scheduled appointments.

Home-Time Target

Our target is roughly 7 days out for every 1.5 days home. It is a target, not a guarantee — freight, weather, and safety come first. Dispatch plans home time with you, not around you.

Drop-Trailer Operations

Some assignments involve drop-trailer or drop-and-hook operations; others are live load and unload. Time at a facility varies by customer and appointment, and some assignments involve shorter runs or trailer handling instead of miles. Ask recruiting how freight from your area typically runs.

Drivers Outside Arizona

You do not have to live in Arizona to drive with JASKO. Talk to recruiting before you apply about equipment parking and how getting home works from where you live.

No Guaranteed Lanes

JASKO does not guarantee a specific lane or a set number of weekly miles. What we will give you is an honest picture of what drivers in your region are actually running, based on current freight.

The Operational Details

JASKO runs over-the-road refrigerated freight throughout the United States, with our heaviest operations connecting Arizona, the Midwest, and the Southeast. The freight network shifts with customer demand and market conditions, so individual drivers may work different regions depending on available freight, equipment type, and dispatch needs. We do not advertise dedicated lanes unless a specific opportunity has been confirmed.

Refrigerated freight is the core of the business. Drivers move temperature-sensitive products on Utility refrigerated trailers, and assignments can involve live loading and unloading, scheduled appointments, drop-and-hook operations, and trailer recovery. Some assignments involve shorter distances, additional trailer handling, or waiting periods instead of miles — that variation is part of refrigerated work, and it is handled under JASKO's operating and compensation policies. Every assignment requires attention to cargo protection, temperature requirements, scheduling, and communication.

Dispatch plans each trip around your current location, available hours of service, equipment, customer appointments, freight opportunities, and positioning for the next load. The goal is to operate safely, limit unnecessary downtime, and keep equipment moving productively. No plan survives contact with the road unchanged — which is why communication matters more than the plan itself.

Home time is coordinated between you and dispatch. Our working target is approximately seven days on the road for every one and a half days at home, subject to freight availability, where you live, customer commitments, weather, and other operating conditions. It is a planning target, not a guaranteed schedule. The earlier you communicate the dates you need, the better dispatch can plan freight around them.

Qualified drivers living outside the Phoenix area may be considered. Before hiring, recruiting will discuss how you would travel to the Buckeye terminal, your home-time expectations, and what parking is available for assigned equipment. Parking arrangements involving company tractors, trailers, or loaded freight require company approval, and loaded equipment must be protected under cargo-security requirements.

Delays are part of trucking: loading times, weather, mechanical problems, traffic, and customer schedules can all change a well-planned trip. When something changes, communicate it promptly. Dispatch can adjust appointments, arrange assistance, or evaluate other freight — but only if they know early.

Do you guarantee lanes or weekly miles? No. Mileage, lanes, and schedules depend on actual operating conditions and are not guaranteed unless agreed in writing.

How do I request home time? Tell dispatch as early as possible. Home time is planned around your requested dates whenever freight allows.

Can I live outside Arizona? Yes — many drivers do. Travel, home time, and equipment parking are worked out with recruiting before you start.

Is every load drop-and-hook? No. Assignments mix live loads, appointments, drop-and-hook, and trailer recovery, depending on the customer and the freight.

Home time is a conversation, not a slogan. Tell recruiting where you live and what you need at home, and you will hear honestly whether we can make it work before anyone wastes your time.
