Elvir P. leading new driver orientation at JASKO Enterprises in Buckeye, Arizona

What orientation is, who you will meet, and how the days are organized. Orientation is held at our Buckeye headquarters with dispatch, safety, and the shop — the people you will work with every day.

Bring your CDL and DOT medical card. Recruiting confirms your schedule, your start date, and — if you are traveling in from out of state — your travel arrangements before you come.

Report to JASKO headquarters, 1122 N. 189th Ave, Buckeye, AZ 85326. Park where directed and check in with recruiting (1-877-355-2756 ext. 1000) when you arrive.

Payroll setup with direct deposit, tax forms, identification, and emergency contacts. Most of this is started from your application, so orientation is about completing and verifying — not starting over.

CDL and medical verification, the FMCSA Clearinghouse check and drug screening, record reviews, and approvals. These are the federal and JASKO standards from the Requirements page, completed in person.

Every new JASKO company driver completes a driving evaluation before being released for independent dispatch, unless a documented exemption applies under FMCSA regulations. The evaluation covers:
  • Pre-trip inspection — tractor, trailer, brakes, tires, lights, and safety equipment
  • Vehicle operation — starting, shifting, turning, lane control, following distance, and speed management
  • Backing and maneuvering — straight-line and offset backing, dock approaches, and parking
  • Coupling and uncoupling — fifth wheel, air and electrical lines, landing gear, and trailer connections
  • Road driving — highway and city traffic, intersections, railroad crossings, and defensive driving
  • Refrigerated equipment — basic reefer operation, temperature settings, and trailer inspection
  • Post-trip inspection — defect reporting and proper vehicle shutdown

Completion requires a satisfactory evaluation, examiner documentation, and approval before independent dispatch.

How mileage pay, per diem, and accessorial pay work, and how weekly ACH settlements are paid. Recruiting walks you through the schedule; the structure is also on the Pay & Programs page.

How loads are assigned, which status updates dispatch needs and when, and who to call when something changes on the road. You will meet your dispatcher during orientation.

Logging in, duty statuses, available hours, edits, personal conveyance, and what happens with a violation. The FMCSA reference guides are linked in Driver Best Practices.

Your tractor and trailer assignment, keys and fobs, and a walk-around inspection of your equipment before the first dispatch.

Pre-trip and post-trip inspections, inspection reports (DVIR), reporting defects, and what to expect at roadside inspections.

Reefer settings, temperature verification, and protecting temperature-sensitive cargo from pickup to delivery.

Your fuel card, approved fueling locations, receipts, and how tolls and road expenses are handled and documented.

Safety cameras, speed expectations, accident and incident reporting, severe weather, and the passenger policy — no passengers or pets are permitted — this policy is in effect through June 30, 2027, when our current insurance policy ends, and will be revisited at renewal.

The accounts and apps set up with you during orientation: the ELD, the driver portal, and the document-scanning tool used for load paperwork.

Bills of lading, proof of delivery, trailer seals, detention documentation, and submitting your documents promptly so settlements stay on schedule.

How home time is scheduled with dispatch, parking at the Buckeye yard, loaded-trailer security, and returning equipment properly.

What to do first — and who to call — for accidents, roadside breakdowns, cargo incidents, and other emergencies.

The final step. Dispatch authorization is issued only after confirmation of your road test, compliance clearance, equipment inspection, technology setup, and signed acknowledgments.
