CDL-A refrigerated careers

Company Drivers

Solo OTR refrigerated work with an Arizona-based carrier — $0.55–$0.60 CPM starting pay, weekly ACH pay, and more for drivers who create more value.

Drive with JASKO

JASKO Enterprises, Inc. is an OTR refrigerated carrier based in Buckeye, Arizona. We are looking for professional CDL-A drivers who want good equipment, steady OTR work, competitive pay, and the opportunity to earn more by being safe, productive, dependable, flexible, and taking care of the equipment.

This is a solo OTR refrigerated position. JASKO operates nationwide, with significant freight throughout the West, Midwest and Southeast.

Starting Pay

$0.55–$0.60 CPM total to start, based on your experience and record.

Weekly Protection

Qualifying drivers may be eligible for a $1,500 weekly minimum.

Weekly ACH Pay

Settlements paid weekly by ACH direct deposit.

The Company Driver Offer, by Section

The full offer, section by section — open the parts that matter to you.

  • $0.55–$0.60 CPM, including per diem of up to $0.10 CPM within the total rate
  • Starting rate is based on experience, safety history, qualifications, reefer experience, employment history, road test and overall fit
  • Complete compensation and per diem details are provided during the hiring process
  • Weekly ACH direct deposit
  • Driver Value Pay: up to +$0.05 CPM for drivers who create more value, considering:
    • Safety and compliance
    • Reliability and dispatch flexibility
    • Communication
    • Equipment care and preventive reporting
    • Customer and service performance
    • Fuel and operating efficiency
  • Production Pay: 12,000 qualifying paid miles in a month earns +$0.01 CPM; 13,000 or more qualifying paid miles earns +$0.02 CPM
  • Additional differentials: qualifying equipment or fuel-efficiency differentials may also be available
  • Top-performing drivers can earn materially more than their starting CPM

The better the driver performs and the more value the driver creates, the greater the earning opportunity.

  • Qualifying Weekly Minimum: $1,500
  • Designed to protect available drivers during unusually low-mile freight weeks, when JASKO or freight conditions result in an unusually low-mile week
  • Requires the driver to remain available for lawful, safe and reasonable dispatch
  • Driver-requested home time, unapproved unavailability, unreasonable load refusals, or driver-created HOS limitations may affect eligibility

JASKO recognizes that not every working hour produces mileage.

  • Detention — $17.50/hour after 2 free hours, up to a maximum of $125 per qualifying 24-hour period. Detention applies while the driver is being held at a shipper or receiver.
  • Bobtail / Available Standby — $17.50/hour. May apply when you are released from the customer, are not consuming driving or on-duty hours, remain available to JASKO, and are waiting for the next productive assignment.
  • Layover — $125 after each completed qualifying 24-hour period (see how layover is counted below).
  • Approved Driver Mechanical Work — $25/hour for approved minor mechanical work beyond normal driver inspection responsibilities.
  • Additional Stop — $35 per qualifying additional stop.
  • Driver Assist / Local Work — $25/hour when qualifying.

How detention becomes layover. Detention compensates customer-controlled delay. Layover does not begin just because 24 clock hours passed. The countdown begins after delivery or drop, once the driver is released, legally rested and available for the next assignment — and layover applies when the driver has lost a full 24 consecutive hours of actual productive availability in that state. Required rest does not count toward that clock — for example, if you arrive at 6 PM needing a 10-hour break, the hours from 6 PM to 4 AM are rest, not layover time; if you are still held at 4 AM the following day, that is 24 hours of lost productive availability and qualifies for the $125 layover. Once layover applies, detention and layover do not stack for the same period — the pay category changes from detention to layover.

We want professional drivers who take pride in operating safe, inspection-ready equipment. Clean qualifying DOT inspections may earn:

  • Level I Clean Inspection: $150
  • Level II Clean Inspection: $100
  • Level III Clean Inspection: $50

  • Paid Orientation: $400
  • Driver Referral Bonus: $1,000
  • Driver Loyalty / Retention Bonus: up to $1,500
  • Additional qualifying pay programs may apply.

  • Normal target: approximately 7 days out / 1–1.5 days home
  • Home time should normally be requested at least 7 days in advance
  • Longer requests should be submitted earlier when possible
  • Approved home time is not held against the driver
  • Drivers must return and be available at the agreed date and time

JASKO is a nationwide OTR refrigerated carrier, not a dedicated-route operation. JASKO listens to driver preferences, but this is not a dedicated-route or customized-lane position. Professional OTR drivers should be reasonably open to:

  • Western, Midwestern, Southern and other U.S. markets
  • Major metropolitan areas
  • Mountain routes
  • Winter states when actual road conditions are safe
  • Day and night appointments
  • Live loading and unloading
  • Drop-and-hook freight
  • Multiple stops
  • Short positioning loads when necessary
  • Changing freight markets and customer requirements

A driver’s preference is different from a legitimate safety concern. JASKO does not expect a driver to operate illegally or under genuinely unsafe conditions. Drivers are expected to use professional judgment, communicate actual safety concerns promptly, and comply with HOS and FMCSA requirements. At the same time, routinely rejecting reasonable freight because of personal preference is not consistent with the JASKO OTR position.

Company drivers operate:

  • Volvo VNL 860 (2024–2025)
  • Peterbilt 579
  • Refrigerated Utility trailers
  • Electronic logging, safety technology and remote reefer monitoring

Drivers are expected to treat company equipment as if unnecessary operating costs came out of their own pocket:

  • Perform professional pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Report defects early
  • Watch tires, lights, air leaks, fluids and visible damage
  • Verify reefer temperature and operating mode
  • Control unnecessary idle
  • Follow approved fuel networks and routing
  • Keep equipment clean and secure
  • Never modify, drill, wire or permanently alter company equipment without authorization

Drivers who consistently protect equipment and control unnecessary operating cost can earn more through the Driver Value program.

A JASKO company driver should be: Safe. Reliable. Productive. Flexible. Communicative. Professional.

Drivers are expected to:

  • Remain reasonably open and flexible for dispatch
  • Accept lawful, safe and reasonable assignments
  • Communicate status and ETA changes, and actual safety or HOS concerns, promptly
  • Protect customer freight and follow reefer instructions
  • Maintain accurate ELD records
  • Properly inspect and care for assigned equipment
  • Report defects, damage and reefer issues immediately
  • Avoid unnecessary idling and operating expense
  • Use company equipment only for authorized purposes
  • Follow JASKO routing, fueling, parking and home-time procedures
  • Return equipment and company property properly when employment ends

Higher compensation opportunities are designed for drivers who consistently meet these expectations.

Basic hiring requirements:

  • At least 23 years old
  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Acceptable MVR and safety history
  • Ability to meet JASKO’s qualification standards
  • OTR experience preferred — two years preferred, exceptions subject to approval
  • Refrigerated experience preferred
  • Ability to pass required drug/alcohol and Clearinghouse requirements
  • Ability to complete a JASKO road test
  • Ability and willingness to perform professional OTR work

Current benefits:

  • Paid vacation / PTO
  • Paid holidays
  • Weekly ACH payroll

Medical, dental, vision and 401(k) benefits are not currently offered.
